Born and raised on a farm in Northwest Iowa, Elissa developed a deep connection to agriculture from an early age. After earning a degree in Management & Human Resources from Buena Vista University, Elissa embarked on a remarkable career journey spanning over 15 years in Human Resources across diverse sectors including manufacturing, food manufacturing, and agriculture.
In 2014, Elissa joined Ag Partners LLC as the HR Recruitment and Talent Manager. Over the years, Elissa played a pivotal role in the company's growth, culminating in the 2021 merger of First Cooperative Association and Ag Partners to establish Ag State. In August 2021, Elissa assumed the role of Vice President of Human Resources, overseeing a dedicated team responsible for the well-being and development of nearly 500 employees.
One of Elissa's key achievements lies in the successful growth of the migrant worker program, achieving an impressive 75% retention rate. Additionally, Elissa spearheaded the development of the AgState Leadership Exploration and Development program, as well as the innovative Elevate: Leadership Academy program, showcasing a commitment to nurturing and advancing talent within the organization.
Residing in Spencer, IA, Elissa balances professional excellence with a fulfilling personal life. Alongside Chase and their two daughters, Quinn and Elliott.
