Katilyn (Kati) is native to Northern California and attended University of Nebraska-Lincoln for her undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and Anthropology. She worked for a year in Topeka, Kansas as an AmeriCorps VISTA before returning to Nebraska to complete her M.S. in Natural Resource Sciences. Katilyn’s research focused on invasive thistles in rangeland, pastures, and CRP land. She returned to do one more year of AmeriCorps VISTA working in partnership with the Department of the Interior in West Virginia. Over the last 5 years Katilyn has been working as a Research Associate while completing her PhD with a specialization in Weed Science at Auburn University. Her research has focused on utilizing high residue cover crops with residual herbicides to extend weed control as well as a number of herbicide tolerance studies. She started with Bayer Crop Science as Crop Protection Technology Development Representative for Eastern Iowa in March 2021.
