Dr. Charles Block serves as the Seed Health Testing Coordinator at the ISU Seed Science Center, the largest public seed health testing laboratory in the U.S. He is also co-administrator of the U.S. National Seed Health System (NSHS) along with Dr. Gary Munkvold. Charles joined the Seed Science Center in July 2016 after for 30+ years as a plant pathologist at the North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station in Ames, a USDA germplasm station. He has extensive experience in seed health testing, knowledge of seed borne diseases, emerging diseases topics, international phytosanitary regulations, and quarantine issues.
