Trent Newell grew up on a diversified farm in northeast Kansas, raising corn, wheat, soybeans, grain sorghum, and beef cattle. Trent graduated from Kansas State University in 2013 with a B.S. in Agronomy and his M.S. from Kansas State University in 2016 in Agronomy with an emphasis in drought physiology of semi-arid cropping systems and irrigation management. He has been a Certified Crop Adviser since 2014. Trent began at Pattern Ag in 2021 as the Agronomy Project Manager for the Data Science team and has now become the Agronomy Lead at Pattern Ag. Trent leads the Pattern Ag Grower’s Initiative, a field-based research program that pioneers technology in agriculture for growers across the country. In prior roles, Trent was a Lead Agronomist, Project Manager, and North America Technical Services Manager for national and international agricultural companies, including Land O’ Lakes-Winfield United, J.R. Simplot Company, and ICL Innovative Ag Solutions.
